Alpine Ski and Snowboarding

The alpine ski and snowboard club participates in the Northern California division of the USCSA. The club competes approximately eight weekends during the season in a variety of race and freestyle events in skiing and snowboarding. All levels are welcome to join.

The Badminton club is a competitive and recreational group that promotes individual and team success. We welcome all skill level players to come out and enjoy the game. The Badminton Club also competes against other Northern California colleges and hosts two tournaments every school year.

Baseball

The baseball club competes regularly with schools on the West Coast. In 2007, the club won the Southern Pacific Regional and advanced to the National Club Baseball World Series. The baseball club is open to all skill levels.

Bowling

The UCD Bowling Club competes through the United States Bowling Congress (USBC) Collegiate program and is a member of the Pacific Coast Intercollegiate Bowling Conference (PCIBC). The club competes between October and February with post-season taking place between March and April.

Boxing

The UC Davis boxing club competes in the National Collegiate Boxing Association (NCBA) Western Division. The team competes primarily against schools in Northern California and Nevada. Open tryouts are held every quarter. Members of the team will be trained by coach Hector Lopez - a former USA Team qualifier.

Crew: Men's

UC Davis Men's Crew is a member of the Western Intercollegiate Rowing Association (WIRA) and competes both regionally and nationally. The team has distinguished itself as a perennial powerhouse in the WIRA conference, with numerous WIRA medals in all the major boat categories. Additionally, the team has grown more of a national presence, with appearances at Head of the Charles in Boston, IRA national championships in New Jersey, ECACs and ACRA club national championships in Oklahoma.

Cycling

The UC Davis Cycling Team provides an opportunity for students interested in cycling to build skill and gain racing experience. Mountain bike racing runs from September to November, while road racing behinds in February and continues through mid-spring. Collegiate racing offers competition for all levels, from novice to experts.

The Dressage Team is for equestrian athletes interested in riding and showing Dressage. They welcome participants of all levels and backgrounds who wish to improve their dressage skills. Team members compete under the jurisdiction of the Intercollegiate Dressage Association in California.

Equestrian: Event

The UC Davis three-day Event Team is open to riders from Elementary to Preliminary level who own and compete on their own horses. The team travels and competes at three-day events such as Woodside, Rancho Murietta, Ram Tap, Gallaway, Twin Rivers, and Eventful Acres. The team trains for events in their weekly lessons with the three-day Event coach and goes to cross-country schooling at least once a month to prepare for competitions.

The Equestrian Club is perfect for those who love to ride and show horses. The Club participates in dressage, hunter jumper, western and eventing. Club membership is open to all participants interested in improving their riding and horsemanship skills. Evaluations and tryouts are held at the start of each academic quarter.

Fencing

The fencing club is an organization that caters to both the recreational and competitive fencer. Open to both men and women, fencing is a sport of agility, timing, patience and quick thinking. No experience is necessary and instruction by experienced fencers and equipment is provided. The club meets twice a week and year round and is a competitive member of the Northern California Intercollegiate Fencing League.

Gymnastics

The gymnastics club serves as a place for participants to share their passion for the sport of gymnastics. The club consists of both competitive and recreational members with diverse skill levels. It is suggested that individuals who are interested in joining with no prior experience take at least one quarter of Beginning Tumbling class.

Ice Hockey

The combination of speed, power, and finesse that is involved in ice hockey makes it one of the great spectator sports. The club competes against teams from Sacramento State, UC San Diego, Fresno State, Santa Clara University, and many others this season. The season begins in October and runs through February. The Ice Hockey team competes at the club Division III level against opponets from around the state. The team is part of the PCHA, a regional league within the AACHA, and has been in existence since 1989.

Judo

Judo is a Japanese martial art that focuses on using an opponent's momentum to throw them. We practice throwing and grappling techniques along with mental discipline. Our team placed second in the 2009 Collegiate Nationals and we have produced several National Champions. We are a competitive team that trains hard but still has fun. All levels of experience are welcome.

Rowing: Women's

UC Davis Women's Rowing is in its first year as a sport club. This former ICA team competes in the Western Intercollegiate Rowing Association (WIRA) and has always been a strong competitor here on the west coast. The team has grown since winning two consecutive NCAA Division II Championships. The team competes at the San Diego Crew Classic, the largest regatta on the west coast, and has received numerous medals at the annual WIRA Championship regatta held every spring.

Rugby: Women's

The UC Davis Women's Rugby Club is a Division I, nationally ranked team with A and B sides. Both teams practice together on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays during the week with conditionings held on Wednesdays. The club participates in many friendly pre-season tournaments in the fall and competes in league games during the winter. The club is overwhelmingly made up of players with no experience, so all levels of interest or experience are welcome!

The men’s soccer club was established in 2004, and all players have significant high school, club, and/or college experience. The club consists of an "A Team" and "B Team". Both teams are members of the West Coast Soccer Association (WCSA) and compete against other collegiate clubs including Berkeley, UC Santa Barbara, UC San Diego, UCLA, USC, San Diego State, Cal Poly, Stanford, USF, Fresno State, St. Mary's, and UOP. Practices are 2-3 times each week, usually early in the evening. In addition to practice, players are expected to attend fitness sessions. Tryouts are held early in the fall and spring.

Volleyball: Men's

Established in 1967 by Gary Colberg, the UC Davis Men's Volleyball club has since become one of the premiere clubs in the nation. Representing the highly competitive Northern California Collegiate Volleyball League, both the Davis Varsity I and II teams have consistently proven themselves to be within the top ten finishers in the NIRSA club volleyball rankings.

Waterski and Wakeboard

The water ski and wakeboard club welcomes men and women to join the club for competition, fun, sun and friendship. The club competes in collegiate tournaments with individual performances ranked for a team score. There are approximately four tournaments in the fall and spring quarters. Practices are on an individual basis depending upon equipment, available water rental times and academic schedules. The two seasons are August–December and February–May. The club is open to all skill levels.
